Chorleywood Orchard are holding their annual Apple Day on Saturday 7 October. It’s always a fun family event with children’s activities (run this year by the Scouts and Little cakes Montesorri School!), including apple juicing and longest peel competition. Locally grown apples, homemade jams and chutneys, cakes and biscuits will be on sale, and the all day BBQ will be serving J & J May’s bespoke pork and local apple sausages with homemade chutney. You can taste and buy several different apple juices – limited edition single varieties of Discovery, Blenheim Orange, Kidd’s Orange Red and Bramley’s Seedling, as well as a delicious blend and CW Cider Club’s latest brew inspired by a trip to top cider makers in the West Country. Local beekeeper Mike Davey will be on hand to share his knowledge and advise and new this year is an RSPB stall.
