Russell pupils kicked off Easter (Fri 31 March) by wearing home-made Easter bonnets to school. The colourful Ascot-esque headwear cheered up the school for the day and two winners were chosen from each class.

Another end of term highlight was the outstanding Easter Concert, which started literally with a bang from the drum club.  Music from the Brass Band, Orchestra and instrumental ensembles was interspersed by poetry written by children. There were a record 140 performers covering all main instruments from French horn to Trumpet, Cello to Ukulele and the now renowned year one Mini Maestros. The best pianists entertained the audience before the show and, as the concert drew to a close, 300 voices from both the stage and the audience raised the roof together with the Gospel Medley.
