Lots of ticks for Herons

The best thing about our local eateries is that each one ticks a different combination of boxes and the recently opened Herons in The Swillett definitely gets a big bold Sharpie tick in the Quality box – it should really be three ticks: standard of cuisine, service and environment.

“ It’s all about the food” says new owner Armando Lusha

After a major revamp during summer , the new Swillet restaurant quietly launched itself in September 2015

“We didn’t want to shout about it until we felt we found our feet” Feet are now very much on the gourmet ground in Herons.

Run by Armando on the business side with partner Toni ? heading up the kitchen ( La Caprice, Gaucho) their mantra is to keep standards high and offer a London style restaurant in leafy Chorleywood. So expect fine dining, immaculate service and finesse with extras –   fresh limes in the drinks (matching the elegant chairs), chunky flavoursome olives, designer bread and dips (on the house), impressive bar floral displays, sizeable linen napkins, decent glassware and upmarket Villeroy and Boch cute coffee cups. Don’t expect lunch for a tenner, two courses are £15.50 and well worth it. The lunch portion size is the same as that served for dinner. Everything is fresh, no corners are cut. Despite the sophisticated decor a children’s menu is available.

“I want my customers to get the best, have value for money and be keen to come back”

Herons ticks a lot of the right boxes and there’s another we’re hoping to fill in very soon – Creative Cocktails.. development is in progress, watch this space.
