Chorleywooder Jerry Rice (Ex Russell and ex SCD) has made his World Cup Skeleton debut.
The race at Konigssee, Bavaria was streamed live on YouTube on Saturday 27 February.
The sport involves lying face down on a small sled and sliding down the frozen track where speeds of up to 80mph are reached. The sport was named from the bony appearance of the sled and was added to the Olympic programme for the 2002 Winrer Olympics.
“Jerry’s dream was a top 20 finish in his first ever Bob Skeleton World Cup race” says Dad Nick, “He’s lying 14th equal with his “rookie” buddy, Jack Thomas, after the first course of two. The top 20 qualify. Very proud of him (and Jack, too).”
