One of the best of British music festivals is in full flow this weekend – and it’s just 25 mins drive from Chorleywood with the site tucked away in a tree-lined field along a leafy lane beyond Amersham. PennFest, billed as Buckinghamshire’s family friendly festival, has a host of top acts on the line up – tomorrow’s (Sat 22nd July) artists include Sigma (live), James, Maximo Park, The Coral, Reverend and the Makers, and Goldie Looking Chain. Friday night’s bands The Charlatans and Primal Scream performing on the main stage went down a storm with the crowd although a heavy downpour didn’t dampen spirits. Audiences in the Big Top Stage and Lockdown Stage kept dry under canvas.
There are plenty of food stalls around the perimeter, two sizeable bars, Pimms and Champagne tents and a Costa for coffee addicts plus festival essentials – fairground rides, glitter face painting stations and boho clothes & accessories to buy
And the kids should be more than happy with the Kids Kingdom area including a Zorb arena, circus workshop and trapeze lessons, talent show, African drumming and dance workshops and Wycombe Wanderers football zone.
Day tickets £45/ £32/ £22
