The three Chorleywood Primary schools  – Christ Church, Russell and Chorleywood Primary, sing together for the first time on Chorleywood Christmas Festival stage at 5pm on Friday (4 Dec)

The choir is made up of 73 children who are singing in 2 parts . There are so many that even thought the stage is substantial they are having to overflow onto platforms.

“We practised together for the first time today after school on Thursday and are really looking forward to singing on stage tomorrow” says Jane Broadis, Year 6 teacher at Christ Church School. “It’s really a fabulous step forward to have our local schools getting together in this way and we have plans for more joint musical events during this academic year. : says  It makes complete sense to be working together on so many levels: many of these children go on to local secondary schools together and it’s great for them to be able to make new friends and share their talents in big musical ensembles before they get there.   As local teachers we are able to pool resources and share expertise and in an educational climate that is so competitive, it is great to cut against the grain and hold up a flag for collaboration and the fun of working together!”
