Seniors were treated to festive entertainment by children of Chorleywood Primary School, report Charlotte and Josh, both Year 6 pupils at the school

“On the afternoon of the 8th December 30 senior citizens arrived in our school for an enjoyable Christmas tea.  Six students cheerfully played Christmas favourites on the piano including: Jingle Bells, Rocking Around the Christmas Tree and Winter Wonderland.

As the senior citizens sipped their tea, the whole school sang Christmas songs from their Nativity Play.

Overall, the senior citizens really enjoyed spending time getting to know us at Chorleywood Primary School. We helped them into the hall if they needed it and as they left we gave them a Christmas card and some chocolates.”

The entertainment was organised by Tony Hutt of Five Ways Friends..

” It was brilliant.” adds Tony, ” We would like to see more of youngsters and the elderly together and are hoping to do more similar projects in future. The response from our team and the Head and staff of Chorleywood Primary was outstanding!”
