Rubbish for sale – October 2015

Reuse facilities are presently being introduced at the Household Waste Recycling Centres.
The Reuse Centres take items discarded at the Household Waste Recycling Centres and sell them on to the public so that instead of being landfilled or broken down for recycling they are reused and given a new lease of life. Items suitable for reuse can be left in the specified container. Site operatives will ensure that the items are fit for purpose before selling to the public and prices will be set by the site manager and all purchases will be accompanied by a receipt.
For items prohibitied for sale, please visit www.hertsdirect.org/services/envplan/waste/wasteaware/hwrc1/reuse/

New Opening hours in Rickmansworth – May 2015

The news that Rickmansworth Household Recycling Centre is now closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays has led to the  first real serious fall out between those of us working on this website about which is the best alternative.
The Parish Council suggest that you use Waterdale Recyling centre in Garston, but we are pretty certain this is just a Herts bias thing.

Surely the  real choice is between the lovely one on the way to  Chesham  or that  ghastly one between Chalfont St Giles and Amersham.
Unbelievably, there are people working on this website who swear by the one on  A413, but clearly that is nonsense.
The one on the A 413 is a rubbish dump. Clearly the best one is the one in Chesham Vale, but do feel free to have you own opinion.
This is not an official government survey just a way to stop the squabbling in the office.

Bottle it – May 2015

Three Rivers District Council has decided to remove its paper banks and bottle banks from four sites across the district, when current contracts end in June 2015. These ‘bring’ sites have been in place for many years, but the quantities of paper and glass collected in this way have dropped significantly in recent months, thanks to the success of the weekly collection service for mixed recyclables which began in October 2014.

Where and when to go. ( Use the Chesham one)
