There’s an inspired plan afoot for Village Day this year. The Parish Council has organised the various stallholders and activities into different zones on the Common.. there are extra organisations taking part and more craftspeople in action. In the Children’s area you’ll find Ark farm, Face painting, sand art, West Herts Breastfeeding, Chenies School. Hillside Pre-school, Little Cakes and Hollybush Montesorri school and more with groups of young people performing from JK Dance, Stagecoach and CKTS. An environmental section centred around the new Wildwood dens houses a host of exciting stands including RSPB, The Woodland Trust, Chorleywood Dogs Trust Shop, West Herts Beekeepers and the Herts & Middlesex Badger group. There are demos by blacksmith PeteFire, Welsh love spoons and traditional besom brooms from Adam King. CJ’s Birds of Prey have two displays there’s a tug o war competition and the Cake Off is back by popular demand (This year’s Chairman’s charity is CPads, Chorleywood Defibrillators) as is Dog agility with Chorleywood Dog Training, the dog show… and Jo Day will be there showing her pet portraits. On the design front Sorsha Rose will be showing her bespoke designer stools with print specialist Charlotte Jade. All this plus the regular local groups and businesses like CW Scouts, Friends of CW Common, Residents’ Association, Friends of Chorleywood House, Film Club, Golf Club, Cricket Club, Tennis Club, CADs, CW Bookshop plus plenty to eat and drink on offer from Weaponised Lentil, Hazeldene Farm and the Old Shep. Chorleywood Magazine will be teaming up with Chorleywood Cider Club as usual and visitors can sup apple based refreshments whilst enjoying live local music on our Rhythm stage from the likes of Paul Jones and Dog Roses. Not to be missed.
