Could you write a new folk song? Well this is your opportunity. Watford Folk Club invites entries for its fourth annual competition for song writers. This year’s theme is Lovers and Losers. The highs and the lows of loving. The passion of new love, the peace of love which lasts or the despair of love unrequited, the link to to theme must be obvious.

Which got us thinking, Chorleywood is a little underrepresented in the famous lyrics, even Beaconsfield has its Foo Fighter Ballad*,  this is our chance to finally redress the balance; Woe in the Wood, Suffering in Suburbia, Heartache in Herts, ? Come along songwritery people of Chorleywood – get your folk on.

Closing Date Friday October 16th Watford Folk Club – Song competition 2015.

* The Ballad of Beaconsfield by the Foo Fighters is actually about miners trapped in a gold mine in Beaconsfield, Tasmania.
