The Russell School has recently been graded as ‘good’ in all areas by Ofsted. Headteacher Claire Pitt attributes this to the passion and commitment of staff to providing the very best learning opportunities for every child as well as the close co-operation between teachers, governors and parents.
In the latest report Inspectors recognised that pupils ‘make good progress across the curriculum’ and are well placed for starting secondary school. The school was recognised as a ‘safe and nurturing environment’ with friendly, thoughtful and respectful pupils.
“Staff and governors are delighted with the report and parental feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.” adds Doug King, Chair of Governors. “The new approaches to teaching, leadership and behaviour have transformed the school into a happy, thriving environment.”
