Another World Book Day was celebrated at Christ Church School on Thursday 3rd March. Children from the Chorleywood  school joined with other young people from all over the UK in the tradition of dressing up as their favourite book character.

Popular fictional figures from recently published young adult books were honoured by Year 6 Children, including Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games and Thomas from the Maze Runner, alongside other longstanding favourites like Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka and The Twits.

Literacy Coordinator Laura Clow said ‘World Book Day is a fabulous celebration of children’s love of books and reading.  The buzz in the morning as children come into the classroom is fantastic and our special character parade is always a highlight of the school year.”
