Chorleywood nail artist, Alicia Reilly is not your conventional beauty queen. The 22 year old local girl is more likely to spend her me time air rifle shooting, segwaying, zorbing or speed-boating down the Thames than pampering herself in a spa. Alicia has just been shortlisted for Miss Hertfordshire, which is potentially three steps away from Miss World, via Miss England and Miss UK.
“The girls raise money for the charity Beauty with a Purpose in the run up to the finals,” says Miss Herts Organiser Sue Waite, “As well as beauty there’s an emphasis on brains, health and charity work. We look for an all-round woman.”
On London 5th April Alicia is walking the ‘Monopoly board’ around London, “I wanted to do something fun for fundraising. I start at Old Kent Road, finish at Fleet St and even go to Jail!
In the meantime I’m giving mini manis for a donation in the salon. I want to raise £1,000.
It’s all for underprivileged children in UK and so worth it.”
