In a change to the Film Club’s season programme, May’s selection is now Goodbye Christopher Robin on Fri 18 MAY.

This bitter-sweet biographical drama gives a rare glimpse into the relationship between children’s author A. A. Milne and his son Christopher Robin whose toys inspired the world of Winnie the Pooh. Christopher Robin and his family are swept up in the Books’success internationally.

Directed by Simon Curtis and starring Domhnall Gleeson, Margot Robbie, Kelly Macdonald, the film is a cautionary tale about the poisonous effects of sudden and unwanted stardom.

Goodbye Christopher Robin (Cert: PG, 107 mins) Memorial Hall, Fri 18 May.  £6 in adv at CW Bookshop, online at or on door

Note for the Diary….On Friday 15th June, CW Film Club in conjunction with Chorleywood4Refugees is screening ‘The Other Side of Hope’  – a funny, heartfelt drama about the Syrian Refugee crisis. More details next month
