Chorleywood Film Club celebrated its fifth anniversary last month with a sell-out screening of Journey’s End.

“Things have gone better than we dared hope,” says Club Chair, Keith Frost.  “In November 2013 we held a test screening to gauge support for a community cinema. Now with 50+ feature films under our belt, well attended screenings and Chorleywood Film Festival established, the answer to our original question is clearly ‘yes’!

“And there’s a lot going on…. not least our Young Filmmakers  competition  with two sections, each with two age categories.  Films can be from 1-5 minutes long and tell a story.  Young entrants just need a smart phone/ tablet and computer.Details, tips, info and links to software apps at   Deadline 20 February 2019,  . 


The Breadwinner (Cert.12) -an enchanting animated story about Parvana, an 11yr-old girl growing up under the Taliban in Afghanistan. When Parvana’s father is wrongfully arrested, she disguises herself as a boy to support her family and ultimately risks her life to discover if he is still alive.
