JOIN OUR LANTERN PARADE 2024
Chorleywood Community Lantern Parade will kick-start festivities again at this year’s Chorleywood Christmas Evening on Friday 6 December.
Lantern-making is easy and fun!
The lanterns are hand-crafted from willow twigs (withies) and wet strength tissue paper, lit by battery powered lights and suspended on, or carried by, bamboo canes. Simple lanterns, like a basic pyramid, can be made using twigs collected from the garden but any that necessitate curved framework must be made for pliable branches, ideally willow.
