Nine year old William performed at Watersmeet Theatre on Friday 3rd November as part of the annual Schools’ Shakespeare festival with his school, Watford Central Primary, playing the comedic role of Trinculo, the Jester, in his class’s adaptation of The Tempest. Performing Shakespeare in front of a large audience was a significant achievement for William who has high functioning autism and attention hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). He has overcome considerable challenges including conquering a speech and language disorder.
“ William has worked so hard to overcome the obstacles that his speech and languages difficulties brings.” says Mum Catherine, “ For him to be performing in front of the audience is quite something. My Mum and I took him to Stratford upon Avon a few weeks before the showcase and of course, I booked front row seats on the day. It was utterly amazing!”
