Plans for a new cricket pavilion are taking shape and visitors at Chorleywood Village Day were handed a copy of the proposal at the Cricket Club stand and asked to sign in support of a new building
The Cricket Club, Parish Council and Friends of the Common envisage the 50 year old current building being replaced by a traditional pavilion that fits better into its protected green belt Conservation area.
” This is an important project for Chorleywood, not only to sustain the future of cricket on the Common but to provide an appropriate vista at the entrance to our wonderful Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.”
The petition will be sent with the Planning Application and application to DEFRA under Section 38 of the Commons Act – advice from the Clerk to the PC.
Once planning permission is secured a campaign for serious fund raising will start with a view to demolishing and replacing the old dilapidated building at the end of the 2016 summer season.
