Royal Ascot Ladies Day was celebrated in style at The Bedford Arms, Chenies (Fri 17 June). Guests were welcomed with a Pimms reception then spent time studying the form before placing small bets on winning horses for the six races of the day. A lunch fit for the Queen prepared by the hotel chefs was thoroughly enjoyed by all whilst the races were watched on a TV screen. Points were awarded for correct predictions of the first four places of each race and the money split between the three people accumulating most points.
Two people correctly guessed the colour of the Queen’s hat – pink!
