A nature trail will be on Chorleywood Common very soon. The Parish Council has been keeping it all under wraps but everything is now official and the first trail elements are scheduled to be in place in time for Village Day this year.
The map shows the plan but it is expected that ideas will evolve as work is undertaken. The different elements
include two distinct natural play areas and there will be a series of animal sculptures dotted around the Common similar to the magical tree carvings in The Dell at Chorleywood House Grounds, including owls and gnome homes. There will be a fairy ring and story telling area near Christ Church School and a den building area with a natural climbing frame as well as references to the heritage and history of the Common.
The scheme gives scope for natural play and should encourage children to use their imagination.
There will be hidden features that lend themselves to discovery and treasure hunts.
