The Wonderlab have reached the finals of the British Hairdressing Business Awards in the Salon Design category. The salon was co-founded by sisters-in-law Katie and Jade May who, with help from Katie’s brother Nathan, completely transformed the interior of what had been Chorleywood’s petshop into a stylish and unusual Salon.
“ The interior is based on a Victorian inspired lab” explains Katie, “where everything would be weighed and measured off the shelf.”
Everything fits the look, from the ceramic brick tiles and industrial lighting to the real copper piping foot rests and verdigris coloured paint that mimics oxidised copper. Even the waiting area has original red leather cinema seating.
The results will be announced on the 8th September 2014.
