Eleven year old Jamie Broadis (main pic and right) puts bird food out ready to attract flying visitors while six year old Beaver Scout Josh Robinson and his Dad (left) get wrapped up and prepared for a chilly afternoon’s birdwatching with hot chocolate and notebook at the ready to record birds who visit their Chorleywood Garden.
The Robinsons have reported seeing 11 different types of birds including woodpecker, robins, blackbird and wren and a group of 4 sparrows. “We even had a red kite fly over the garden” adds Mum Louise
For 7yr old Ben Slatford (below left) his best bit of the hour also involved a red kite which he spotted in the first 5 seconds of the watch. He recorded great tits and robins too and was thrilled to see a green woodpecker.
