The fourth Chorleywood Classic and Supercar show (Sat 18 July) attracted record numbers of exhibits to its new venue of Chorleywood Common Youth Football Club and around 1000 visitors, raising £6,238 for local charity Peace Hospice Care. A donation of £1,000 was also given to Chorleywood Youth Football Club for the kind use of their grounds.

The display of cars ranged from a much-loved 1960 Mini with its original owner to six Jensen Interceptors

“The show had a festival feel to it, with a live jazz band, barbeque, bar and picnics.” says Show founder/organiser and Chorleywood resident, Guy Davis,”We were thrilled with the day and the amount raised together with the support of our lead sponsors DK Engineering and Savills, Rickmansworth and our many helpers on the day. With a growing event and a new venue, inevitably there were logistical challenges. We had no idea that so many more people than last year would visit which placed unexpected pressure on the local roads. It wasn’t helped by people ignoring No Parking signs and therefore causing obstructions, but we are committed to working with the local authorities to ensure that next year, an adequate traffic system and visitor parking will be in place.”

The provisional date for next year’s show has been set for 16 July 2016.
