Chorleywood Amateur Dramatics Society’s (CADS) production of the Olivier award winning comedy drama Out of Order by Ray Cooney. in the Memorial Hall is going down a storm.

First produced regionally in 1980, under the original title ‘Whose Wife is it Anyway’ the play went into the West End a decade later with Donald Sinden, Sandra Dickinson and Michael Williams starring and Cooney directing.

A Cabinet minister’s illicit evening in a London hotel is brought to an abrupt halt when a dead body is discovered in the bedroom. The Government could fall and so he embarks on a cover-up which risks both his marriage and his political future.

All the action takes place in one hotel room and has the usual farce elements: comings and going through various entrances., misunderstandings, unexpected arrivals of spouses, scanty underwear and the inevitable dead body

The cast are enjoying this production which, they say, is stretching everyone’s talents.

”Farce is what we do best and this is really one of the funniest plays we’ve ever done’ says Gaye Daniels, Director

Out of Order by Ray Cooney, Thurs 2 – Sat 4 Nov, Memorial Hall
