Chorleywood Common Youth Football Club’s is flourishing and has grown to 35 teams from u7 to u18 with 500 players, plus there’s a soccer school for u6s.
Local company Poores sponsored this season’s Under 16s Lions shirt. But the club want new local children to be able to join so always need team kit sponsors.
The fundraising Out 0f Bounds Comedy Night held at The Memorial Hall in January was a complete success.
“The Hall was packed with all ages from 19 to 70+” says Erica Bendall, “we have another planned for 10th October with a new line up.
“Just short of £2 k was raised which will help with much needed equipment. Subscriptions meet costs like site leasing, training, match ball, groundsman, goalposts and net replacement but the clubhouse building needs renovating and the pitches maintaining. ”
“Our u11s team reached the semi final of the County Cup and play on 15 March.” adds Roy Bennett, “Other age group teams are also doing well in their leagues and in cups have reached semi final stages so far.
