This powerful, moving piece of work inspired by Music Hall has a definite flavour of Oh What a Lovely War ! Written by Diane Samuels it is set after the Great War in a costumier’s workshop. Poppy Wright arrives in London’s East End in 1919 where she meets three men – a tailor, a fading music hall artiste returned from the trenches, and George Sampson, a dashing chauffeur, with whom she falls in love.

“Poppy and George brings its own distinctive sense of playful questioning and ebullient innuendo to a love story with a difference.” says Diane Samuels, ”I can’t think of a better place to bring this very modern take on a time gone by than the Palace which once really was a music hall.”

Directed by Jennie Darnell.
