A renowned Big Band Jazz Ensemble joins forces with a talented female vocalist to present Peggy, Duke & Benny, featuring the music made famous by three of jazz’s most iconic stars: Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington and Miss Peggy Lee.
Watford based Band leader and clarinettist Pete Long (Ronnie Scott’s Big Band / Jools Holland’s Rhythm and Blues Orchestra), conducts and performs with lead vocalist and trumpet player Georgina Jackson (BBC Radio 2, Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Orchestra) and band – Anthony Kerr on vibes, Nick Dawson, piano, Dave Chamberlain, bass and Richard Pite on drums.
Peggy Lee’s first show was with the Benny Goodman Orchestra. Peggy also worked with the Great Duke Ellington on the movie “Anatomy Of A Murder”, and even co-wrote the dark but intensely groovy “I’m Gonna Go Fishin”. As well as performing the music that made them famous, Pete Long narrates their stories in his own inimitably humorous way.
Peggy, Duke and Benny features a wealth of classic tracks including It Don’t Mean A Thing, Fever, Do I Love You, Folks Who Live On The Hill, The Girl From Ipanema, Rockin In Rhythmn and Moonglow.
