The new Chairs of Governors of our three primary schools met for the first time in March to discuss how they could benefit from working more closely to share expertise on approaches to teaching or by running combined events in music, sport, and the arts. Doug King at The Russell School and Simone Tyson at Chorleywood Primary School took up their posts in October and Gillian Pugh took on the chair at Christ Church C of E Primary School in January.

“We want to share best practice, support and nurture talent and ensure happy and successful outcomes for the children in our community” says Simone.

“Governors play an important role in ensuring that schools are well run and that children get the best possible education.” says Gillian Pugh, “ With so much change in the education system it makes sense to discuss ideas. We are planning on keeping in regular contact.”

Doug King adds

“We will be able to add collectively to the experience that children and families can enjoy and look forward to taking these discussions forward”.
