FRI 21 SEPT – SUN 23 SEPT
We are very happy to announce our third Chorleywood Magazine Scarecrow Trail from 21-23 September. Individuals, families, businesses, schools and groups in Chorleywood, Chenies, Sarratt and Latimer are invited to take part. Start planning now, the theme is TV Classics !
Make a figure that features in a TV programme from any era, any channel .å.. it’s up to you and your imagination. It could be a strong and memorable front-man such as Jonathan Creek or Doctor Who, a soap or reality TV star, an animated legend, a flamboyant TV host or a character from a period drama. Go to town and create a mini set. Whatever you create, try and make it recognisable.
Set up scarecrows in windows and gardens of houses, outside pubs, shops, schools, churches or businesses – anywhere they can be seen by passers-by.
Email firstname.lastname@example.org by Monday 13 August if you would like to take part. You will be contacted in early September for confirmation and asked for name/s of scarecrow makers, location/position of scarecrow and its name/title.
Get the kids involved in creating over the summer holiday, team up with friends, neighbours or work colleagues to pool ideas. There can be several entrants in any road. See some of last year’s imaginative scarecrows at www.chorleywoodmagazine.co.uk
Buy SCARECROW TRAIL guides/voting forms for £2 at selected local shops in the days leading up to the Trail weekend. Profits from sales will go to charity.
The three scarecrows receiving the most public votes and additional special Chorleywood Magazine awards will be announced in the November issue of Chorleywood Magazine.
