Chorleywood Cricket Club mark the start of the cricket season in the traditional way with a barbecue this month, meanwhile the Club Committee have been behind closed doors preparing a final proposal for a new Pavilion to replace the fifty year old ageing building.

Drawings were shared with the Club Committee for comment a few weeks ago before a final set was produced for the Three Rivers District Council Planning Application.

“A milestone has finally been reached in that the Parish Council and Friends of the Common have given us a green light for squaring off the new building replacing the old Clubhouse: says Owen Edis,

“ Our earnest hope is to be able to achieve planning permission this summer for work to start at the end of the 2016 season. Denys Downing and I, who are both past Club Chairmen, have been working on the project for a long time and now we are at the stage of seeking support from from neighbours Manor House, Beaumont Homes, Knights Green, Christ Church and Christ Church School and waiting for approval.  A 2015/16 large scale fund raising campaign will be launched as soon as we get the green light from TRDC. “
