The Wolf comes to the Wood

Director Martin Scorsese’s comic drama The Wolf of Wall Street (Cert:18: 179 mins), is the Film Club’s choice for May.

 

Starring Leonardo Di Caprio, Jonah Hill, Matthew McConaughey and Margot Robbie, the film is based on the real-life rise and fall of Jordan Belfort, a colourful but crooked Wall Street broker.  Belfort made and spent millions of dollars but ended up in prison after the FBI arrested him and his colleagues for fraud when it emerged that their firm had swindled investors out of $200 million.

 

Containing strong language, adult content and scenes of dwarf throwing, the film received five Oscar nominations in the 2013 awards.

 

The Wolf of Wall Street is being screened in association with The Hive at the Russell School on Saturday 16th May. Doors and bar open at 7.00 p.m., the film starts at 7.30 p.m.  Tickets £6 in advance from Chorleywood Bookshop or £6.50 online at www.cwfilm.org
