That’s Not All Folks!

Soon after the credits rolled at the end of The Film Club’s season finale of The Last Picture Show on 4 July, committee members started planning their next (second) season.

“We’ve come a long way in the two years since Kevin Andrews’ call, for like-minded folks to help set-up a Community Cinema in the village,” says Keith Frost who responded.

“Over 1,000 people have attended 16 screenings and the Film Club is now an integral part of Chorleywood’s vibrant cultural scene

At the beginning, we weren’t sure how viable a Community Cinema would be but we have a solid core of ‘regulars’ and are continuing to attract new audiences, having around a third off first-timers at each film.

When we scheduled The Last Picture Show as the final film of the season, the title could have been apocryphal. But with the success of the first year and ongoing support of The Hive, we launch our second Film Club programme in early October. So “That’s not all folks!”
