The new Sandy Lodge Jazz Club promises monthly mellow sounds from top local musicians. At just a hop down the Met Line to Moor Park and with ample parking getting there should be stress free too. The sessions, organised by masterful guitarist Peter Lennon, offer a variety of jazz styles the last Thursday of the month with music from Lennon’s Infinite Jazz , Chorleywood drummer John Bowles with friends and jazz pianist John Donegan. The Great American Songbook will feature regularly on the set lists including classics from the likes of Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra but expect surprises too.
“Our house band or visiting artists play a set then after the break it’s jam time” says Pete, “musicians are encouraged to bring their instruments and join in.”
