Thanks to Chorleywood Magazine readers’ donations (following our feature June 2016) Dennis Darling could repair and replace boxes and is currently setting them up in a more remote area where disturbance by walkers and dogs is less likely
Dennis Darling has been surveying the tawny owl population using owl boxes in Philipshill Wood for over 20 yrs
Although the national owl population is declining. Dennis and The Woodland Trust are helping to maintain a safe habitat for the owls and the small mammals they feed on.
