Every year I take my turn as Santa on The Round Table street collection and every year we make a pig’s ear of the application forms we have to submit to 3 different local councils to ensure Santa`s sleigh is legal.
This year was no exception..our form mess ups included unticked boxes, failing to attach the route map with co-ordinates, plus not including a street collection permit to allow a coin to be dropped in our charity tins while we walked along the road – ours was only for a `static collection` in which case we had to stay rooted to the spot and not move a muscle or risk deportation to the land known as elf & reindeer hell.
So Santa wrote a pleading letter…. And Santa received a reply
