Air Pollution

With Air pollution as major news recently we investigated the situation in Chorleywood.

Looking at Chorleywood and the Three Rivers area, the news is relatively good. During days in January when London and other areas of England recorded “Very High” levels of pollution, the level of nitrogen dioxide pollution (the principal area of concern) was consistently recorded as “Low” in Three Rivers.

Three Rivers, like all Councils in England, has been required to identify potential pollution issues. In Chorleywood, one site has been identified for ongoing monitoring – J18 of the M25, and over recent years this has shown pollution averages to be on the boundary between Low and Moderate, though the most recent data indicates an improvement with results being consistently within the Low band.

Overall, Chorleywood residents shouldn’t have need for concern but the Residents’ Association will continue to monitor the situation and publicise any change.
