Chorleywood Orchard is holding its annual Apple Day as usual on the first Saturday in October.
It’s the 10th birthday this year so expect some celebratory surprises in addition to popular regular activities includingapple juicing, crafts and fun games”
Locally grown apples, homemade jams and chutneys, cakes and biscuits will be on sale, and the all-day BBQ will be serving J & J May’s bespoke pork and local apple sausages with homemade chutney. You can taste and buy several apple juices as well as CW Cider Club’s latest brews and localbeekeeper Mike Davey will be on hand to share his knowledge. Apple Day has a team of enthusiastic volunteers behind it, headed up by Alison Rubens, who founded the orchard and has been at the helm since the first event in 2008. Alison is ready to pass on the organisational role but will be happy to advise the new person.
