Chalfont Heights Riding Club Show held at Chenies Manor, September 2015.
Young Chorleywood riders who picked up rosettes for various classes included Frankie Owen, Charlotte Stone, Sophie Griffiths, Ella Brooker and Lauren Lockton-Phelps. The girls either own or board horses at local stables at Fairfield Farm and Catlips Farm.
“Chalfont Heights show is great – it’s just up the road so we hacked to it.” says Charlotte, “The day before the show we all have to wash, groom, plait and clean the ponies so they look presentable for the judge. It’s a lot of work to prepare but this is part of horse riding and we love it. Everyone supports and helps each other to make it fun even if it’s nerve-racking or your first event!’
