Established in 2013 to develop a community cinema for Chorleywood, the Film Club is an atmospheric, intimate space for local people to come together and enjoy films.
‘With such a rich film heritage, Chorleywood deserves its own film club’ says Kevin Andrews the Film Cub’s coordinator and founder. ‘Chorleywood residents have previously had to settle for large, impersonal multiplexes when going to watch a movie and the Film Club offers a really exciting alternative to this.’
The Film Club has a diverse and dynamic programme of films that have actually been chosen by local people. It features a great mix of more recent films, classics and foreign language films too.
Kevin explains that while they await a permanent venue, the Film Club ‘will continue to bring a ‘big screen’ experience to Chorleywood by making use of different community spaces.’
In the meantime, you can keep an eye on our What’s On listings for venue details and dates for each screening. Tickets available online from www.cwfilm.org or in person from Chorleywood Bookshop
The Film Club is run by a group of committed, friendly volunteers who meet regularly to discuss cinema and films and would love to hear from other Chorleywood residents who would like to get involved.
