Tickets are selling fast for the annual Chorleywood Music by Twilight fund raising concert for Teenage Cancer Trust on Saturday 6 August
The concert, hosted by Sue and David Formosa and organised by Mick Flinn, is the fourteenth Chorleywood TCT event and £300,000 has been raised for the charity to date. The event will be headlined by Tony Christie (best known for his track Is this the way to Amarillo?) and also internationally renowned high energy band Salut, supported by local songwriter/musician Emma McGrath. Early entertainment will be provided on a satellite stage by a line-up of talented unsigned artists including Eddy Smith and Caution Horses.
Money raised from the event is essential for the survival of existing TCT units and the creation of new ones.
“There are 28 TCT units in hospitals around the UK.” says Sue Formosa, “One unit costs between £1million and £3million. They have superior medical facilities and provide an environment where young adults can meet others in a similar situation. Being a patient in a unit can improve the quality of life and even help chances of recovery.”
Last year’s event saw the introduction of a giant Hollywood-style illuminated Chorleywood sign that was rumoured to use almost as much power as the whole lighting rig on stage! What surprises the audience can expect this year from the professional technical team remain to be seen
