Green Street Flooding
This autumn appears to be a time for action on our roads. The consultation document on Green Street flooding has been published. Action now needs to be taken to reduce the risk of future flooding and discussions are planned to take place on 6 October 2014 between Herts and Bucks County Councils, the District Councils and the landowner of the Bucks side of Green Street.
The recently installed land drain on Chenies Road is only partially effective in the prevention of flooding. An upgraded land drain is due to be installed during the school’s half term.
Bus Consultation
Hertfordshire County Council currently subsidises a number of bus companies to run services which are not used enough to make them commercially viable. These services are the focus of a consultation that has been running since July. The consultation closes on 8 October 2014. We do not know how the 336 bus route will be affected. However, the County Council is proposing withdrawing funding to services that run after 6:30pm and that run on a Sunday. The vast majority of bus services in Hertfordshire are operated commercially by bus operators and are unaffected by the proposal and consultation will be presented to the cross-party Highways and Waste Management panel on 4 November 2014
