“My mother’s twin sister taught me to knit and my first knitting project was a yellow garter stitch dishcloth – I dropped so many stitches and took so long it was holey and grubby by the time I finished it. There are much more inspiring things to knit today!”
Fiona studied politics and anthropology at university and started writing knitting books in 2004 after being made redundant.
She says she knits ‘anything and everything, often more than once!’
Fiona will be giving demos and tips about knitting at the upcoming Wild About Wool weekend at Chiltern Open Air Museum this month, The event, is open to all ages- no previous knitting experience needed.
