Parents went back to school recently when they were invited in to St Clement Danes to work alongside their children on a STEM project.
Led by a member of the Smallpeice Trust education team and supported by apprentice and graduate engineers from Finmeccanica, twenty Year 8 and 9 students spent the evening creating a mini-speaker in an event hosted by the school. Each student was able to take their completed project home.
“This was a fantastic opportunity for students to work with engineers in constructing a real-life application of the science we learn in the classroom.” says Mandy Quinton, STEM co-ordinator “ That their parents got to share in this process and saw their children being inspired was an added bonus: we hope that they enjoyed being back in the classroom!”
