While some Mums and their daughters shop together or go on girlie spa days, in Chorleywood they are just as likely to be playing hockey.

At Rickmansworth Hockey Club it’s very much a family affair

“ We have three members of the Matthews’ family – our top goal scorer Andrea Matthews, plus daughter Pippa and son Ollie.” says Ladies Club Captain Penny Lawrence, “Top Player of last season, Beth, is one of three Francombes in the Club – mum Heather and sister Hannah play too! Although we are based at Scots Hill, Ricky, home games and training take place on St Clement Danes Astroturf. We are the nearest club to Chorleywood and have a lot of Chorleywood members of all ages. We are always looking for new players and welcome anyone with an interest in playing regardless of age or previous experience! It’s a really friendly club and we hold lots of social events too. In summer we have a mixed hockey festival with a two day tournament finishing off with a fancy dress party.”

Men’s and ladies teams play on Saturdays in competitive leagues from Sept – March, Training: Wed 8pm-9pm www.rickyhockey.co.uk
