MY GENERATION, the live music club specially created for 40 somethings and over was launched in spring 2012 in the, now defunct, Long Island bar.
MFB, fronted by Mick Flinn, play 60s and 70s hits which inevitably include favourites from the Eagles, The Beatles and Neil Young. Band members Mick, lead guitarist Peter Lennon, bassist Rickey-Simpson Gray and drummer Steve Rolfe clock up more years music experience between them than they care to admit and are renowned for rocking a room. A new act spot starring young local talented singer/songwriter has become a regular MG Club highlight and a host of top local musicians have featured including Tinlin and Tom Billington. A music quiz with a difference punctuates the night and the evening is always rounded off with an upbeat dance set. The Club has a faithful membership.
“ It’s so good to have somewhere for our generation to go to hear music we grew up with” says regular Mike Sweeney.
The Mick Flinn Band released their first album, Road to LA in 2014
“The album has a country/rock and roll vibe and depicts the sort of band we are” says Mick, “it is written and produced in 60s/70s style.”
