TIME FOR A NEW CAR….

`Ok, I think I’ve got it, the numbers at the end are where the car is from`

`No, that`s the letters at the front`

` Got it, so 15 is because your car was registered in 2015`

`Yes, but that`s March 2015, if I were to buy it later in the year it would be 65`

I look blank and then pretend to look interested in the brochure for you see dear reader my interest in cars extends to no more than travelling from A to B and whether the boot is big enough to take a big Costco shop, whereas I share my life with somebody who knows the lap times of every star in a reasonably priced car.

The big day comes and I learn that though there is a key you don’t actually need to put the key in anything to start the car, I do the right thing by looking impressed.

Two days later slate grey has changed to electric blue, seems the air being pumped out is at a constant 26 degrees and the colour change is only temporary till slate gray is repaired.I venture out in electric blue and am impressed that not only can I heat my seat to the temperature I want but I can sit in my own individually controlled climate zone. That`s the theory but the car seems to think along the lines of slate grey and an uncomfortable journey home with all the windows open to combat the heat means that next time I look out of the window we have changed to Tango orange.

I’ve only been out in Tango once but was impressed with the dials and knobs and the display screen showing the last 6 radio stations visited.

`Where`s Radio 2 ?` I venture.

`I don’t know how to tune it` comes the clipped reply.

I know better than to comment…..
