Michael’s Man Drawer: POST SCRIPT

I am a regular visitor to Chorleywood Post Office so when asked to contribute ideas for its future I found it hard to refuse. Firstly I am more than happy with the people there, always friendly, always helpful, I just want to make life a little easier for those of us studying the balls of wool whilst we patiently queue.

So first up is our local ebay community, and for you we are going to create a Happy Hour once a week when you will have the post office exclusively to yourselves, no more feeling guilty as you pull `Just one more` package out of your rucksack, perhaps you could even sell the stuff to each other whilst you are waiting and cut out the middle man.

Next, fairly simple but we`ll move the Currency exchange rates board from outside to inside and then instigate a rule that anybody who asks `What`s your dollar rate today ?` has to go to the back of the queue. I’m still thinking of a rule for `Oh, I don’t actually need them today` or `So how many would I get for £100`

Another Happy Hour, and this will be a seasonal one from mid November through Christmas when you are only allowed to participate if you bring in a minimum of 20 cards or packages, each one addressed to a different country and, as you place each one on the scale you must ask how much to send it first class, second class, recorded, signed for, proof of posting, delivered on a silver tray by Santa and, most importantly, you must ask after each answer when it will be delivered. Incidentally the answer given to this is always 7 to 10 days but it`s always good to check.

How am I doing so far?
