Our Chorleywood Dogs Trust charity shop has hit the amazing figure of £250,000 this month. The shop first opened in June 2014

The shop, which opened in June 2014, has had some ‘barking’ mad donations including a Formula One tyre used by Nigel Mansell, a dominatrix outfit, bed pans and ukuleles!

Over the three and a half years, Nick, with assistant manager Lynne and the eight volunteers, have put in a total of 4,684 hours between them and sorted around 22,400 bags, sold 145,647 items including 16,354 of bric a brac and 4283 books.

The team are all dog lovers and Nick’s labrador, seven year old Max, can often be found helping in store.

“ Max loves coming in. He was just 4 months old and a tiny bundle when we got him from Dogs Trust Harefield. Now he’s tall enough to reach the counter. Well behaved customers’ dogs are always welcome in the shop – we have water for them and biscuits on special days .. we have one coming up on Saturday 24th Feb to celebrate our quarter million figure with bubbly and nibbles for humans and dog treats for our four legged friends!”
