Emotions were heightened more than usual at St Clement Danes school today (18 Aug) as sixth form students picked up their A Level results just three days after one of their peers was found dead in a tent at Boomtown Fair, Winchester (15 August) .

Josephine Valentine, Head teacher said: “The students and staff at the school were deeply saddened and upset to hear of the tragic death of Livvy Christopher. Livvy was a popular and successful student, who had many friends and was well-liked by her teachers. It is poignant that her death came before she was able to collect A level results of which she would have been proud.

“We will miss Livvy deeply and our thoughts are with her family and many friends at this tragic time.”

69% of A level passes at St Clement Danes were at A* to B, with 36% being at either A* or A. There was a 100% pass rate with students, on average, gained the equivalent of around AAB grades and most have secured places at their first choice of course at university or college.

The school will post all results on their website after GCSE results are announced next Thursday
