Two local couples took part in the Monte Carlo or Bust Rally last month – first driving to the start-line in Belgium before heading for Monte-Carlo’s world-famous Casino Square.
Jasmine Lewis, along with husband Darrell and Jo & Clive Malcher, drove an old banger on the rally to raise funds for Cure Parkinsons.
“Jo’s father had this terrible illness for many years.” says Jas, “ We used his car ( the rule is they must cost less than £300) but it was given a thorough going over by Hughes of Beaconsfield first!
The car was designed to look like the Batmobile and we were dressed as Batman & Robin, and The Penguin & Catwoman. There were 80 cars altogether. It was great fun and to date we have raised £2500.”
